Stopped here on way back to TX. Kids ate all of the cheeseburgers and Big Head burger was also good. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was warm and tasty. Good local place to eat, we will be back on our next trip through LA.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures and thats what this stop was. The food was mediocre and half of the menu was crossed out by permanent marker.

One of the worst things i have ever put in my mouth. If in fact the meats are prepared on premise, they are done in large batches weekly (or worse) then microwaved when ordered. By far the best thing on the plate were the from-the-can, store brand beans. The potato salad is store bought as well and is horrible. Even If you are broken down in their parking lot, do yourself a favor and walk down the street to the Shell station and buy a microwave burrito ... Way cheaper, way better tasting and you know it is at least safe to eat.

Fantastic BBQ!! Everything on the super sampler was great! Ribs, chicken, sausage and especially the pulled pork.

Great good, great service. BBQ was great! And the fried okra was a nice way to start the meal off. We sat outside and it was great. Inside was a little outdated. But great spot to stop when you are in the area. Restaurant is under new management now and seems to be running well.

Absolutely terrible. Had the sampler. The brisket was dry as leather! I asked if it was fresh. The server said they only cook brisket once a week, and it was a week old. I told her I couldn't even cut through it with a fork. She asked me if I wanted a knife! Sausage was pan fried- what? Chicken was tasty, but dry. Beans were from a can or tasted like it. Served with cold rolls. Potato salad was good though. Never again. Never.

I guess I could say this is in the middle of nowhere but the BBQ sauce was amazing. We got kinda lost while searching for the Tiger at the truck stop at that exit, so we decided to get some BBQ. I have to say the ribs were great, pulled pork was awesome and we got some fried okra which was to die for. If i'm taking another road trip I will def stop by.

Based on 2 of 3 good reviews, and near starvation, we stopped here for lunch on our way home to Texas. OMG! Men had the rib special and I had the fried shrimp sandwich. The ribs were huge and cooked to smoky perfection with a home made sauce that made my Texas heart weep it was so good! My shrimp sandwich was perfect with the shrimp fresh, crispy and sweet. I ended up putting bar b que sauce on the sandwich too! I really can't say enough about that sauce! The french fries with my sandwich were not that great, until dipped in bar b que sauce. The potato salad and whiskey beans were both good. They also had pizza that looked pretty tasty. There was a group of young men travelling through that were all from Italy and they pronounced the pizza 'pretty good'. Pretty high praise if you ask me. This will be one of our stops from now on when travelling through Louisiana.

We made a quick exit from Interstate 10 to grab some grub. We thought the pulled pork barbecue sandwiches would fit the bill, and you expect southern barbecue to be good. Our expectations were not met. The sandwiches were mediocre. The potato salad should have been called "mashed potato's with egg thrown in for good measure". They threw two rolls into the bag - - - I bit into one and thought I was eating a dough ball - - - so later in the day I made some ravens happy after tossing them out into the parking lot where they were quickly snatched up.

This little gem of a place is a bit hard to find. Just keep going past the Shell Gas Station and you you will see it behind the big tree. I had looked for it before a couple of times and could not see it. Luckily, this time I was gassing up when a couple of State troopers pulled out of the gas station and into the BBQ place. I was not going to go, based on another yelper's review. But after seeing the troopers pull in there I figured the food would be at least edible. I had not eaten BBQ in a while, as I have been staying healthy. But am I happy to have obliterated my diet to eat here! I had the special for the day. BBQ Rib plate. I never expected to get what I got here. The place is more like a bar than a restaurant. When I got my food I gasped! There were 7 humongous ribs on my plate, along with some potato salad and baked beans. Maybe the girls here just loved me...or they hated me and wanted me to die from overeating...or the ribs were bad and they just unloaded them on me? I dove into one of those babies and to my surprise they were tender, juicy, with just the right amount of smokiness. A bit crispy on the ends just like I like them. I usually order my sauce on the side but I did not mind them wallowing in sause. They were so big and fat they needed that sauce. Now, I consider myself a bit of an expert on BBQ having eaten at most of the famous place in Texas and in the ghetto as well. These ribs were amongst the best I have eaten anywhere. I was planning to eat one or two of them and leave the rest. But they were just that scrumptious... so much so I made a piggy out of myself and I cleaned up everyone of those bones. There was not a shred left. . I had to starve for a couple of days after that, but no regrets! I was so ecstatic about my plate, that I decided to approach the troopers. They were eating the Cajun Burger. A large concoction with BBQ sauce, grilled onions, and bacon. It looked fantastic...just not my kind of thing these days. I asked them if they come here a lot and how they liked the food. They could not stop raving about the place. They patrol I-10 and eat here regularly. Just a bit of a note here. The place's name comes from the name of the town which was named after a Choctaw Indian with a big head and the French adopted the name for the village. It is a nice place, with a bayou running right through it. The girls at the counter are all family and they were as nice and sweet as could be. I will be back every time I get a chance.

Atmosphere gets 5 stars. It's cozy, complete with picnic tables outside and huge oak trees. Big Head's wife chatted with us about why they named the place Big Head. I only gave the food 4 stars because because 5 means out of this world. It was yummy, but not crazy awesome. The husband said the bread was fresh on his po boy, but it could have used some flavor. I think it was just fried shrimp with mayo. My brisket sandwich and fried okra was good. Probably the best food you will get in that 30 mile stretch of I-10!
